5k

I wouldn't say I qualify as a runner now by any means, but I did run my first race. Dad, Drew, Davey and me all ran the SLC 5k, while Annie and Matthew ran the half marathon. Davey was the fastest of us 5k'rs and Annie and Matthew did theirs in 1:58. They did great! While training I have to say I did not get that natural high or addiction to running like I keep hearing about... Even as my alarm went off at 5:10 that morning I thought for sure runners were out of theirs minds. But as soon as I walked outside and everything was still , I felt like the first one to see the morning, and that was kind of cool. I met everyone else at the house.. Drew and Davey had just rolled out of bed( they were up a little late the night before because, yes they had dates with girls). At the start line everyone was in such a good mood and full of energy. Drew and Davey of course left Dad and I in the dust, but I was just happy we both ran the entire race, it was fun running it with Dad. I'm not saying I'm hooked or anything but I may do another.

WAY TO GO!!!! You can totally call yourself a runner. Racing gets addicting, you will see. We should all run the Deseret News 10k on July 24th!

In the first picture with everyone in it, Drew and your dad look like twins! I never realized how much Drew looks like your dad. Crazy.

Yea for you Mel! I am so proud! Steve was excited to see you all there, and I have to admit that when it was all said and done I wished that I had pushed through and done it with you. Next year!!

What an amazing accomplishment! I know you probably know all about what's happening in our lives. Sometimes men don't really tell you enough, though. In case you want to check out "our" blog (which is what Brandon makes me call it, even though he has nothing whatsoever to do with it) e-mail me and I will send you an invite. carlyrobison@yahoo.com
