We took alittle hike up little cottonwood canyon. Reagan and L.E. walked the entire mile and a half. They gathered leaves along the way to make it the longest mile and a half hike ever.

Fishing

Annie and I had a crazy idea to go fishing. We went to Teapot LK in the Unitahs. We used to camp and fish there when we were little. I'm sure for dad it was just like old times... setting up poles, untangling lines, unhooking the fish, baiting again, untangling again. Probably didn't enjoy it much. But we did! Thanks dad for a fun day we will never forget. Thanks for your patience and just hanging out with us, we love you!

We had so much fun with everyone home this week. Mostly we just hung around the pool. The boys went golfing and I joined them once. We were up at 5:20 to make our tee time. Insane I know... I was not even close to the best score but did not lose one ball:) I love seeing their carts driving in circles throught the rough, searching for that little white ball. It makes me chuckle when it's not me. We also did a little hike and roasted hot dogs and of course smores.L.E. misses the kids terribly already. Mom and dad did so much! I miss you all and love you tons!

Every 4th of July since I can remember, we have been visiting family near San Francisco area. Walked through Golden Gate Park,ate tons and tons, movies, swam, totally relaxed.

Niagra... Day one

So this trip will take me few installments... Seeing as I get so far behind and get very impatient to wait for the downloads. Niagra is where it all began... Wet is the word for this segment... Maid of the mist... the falls...Poured on in Niagra Falls (town). Fun to meet up with everyone. The falls were amazing... don't you hate that feeling of being too close in case you maybe decided to jump the rail.

Memorial Weekend 2008

This weekend was so much fun. We went to St.George area, did some hiking in Zions,West Rim. We added a couple miles to our already 13.5 mile hike because snow had made the road so muddy.It was an adventure for sure. Steep climbs up and down, beautiful views, interesting and not so interesting conversation,entertaing no doubt. The hike intersected with Angels Landing and home stretch was just a few switch backs away, or so I thought. I could think of a lot more names for the switch backs known as Walters Wiggles but since this is a family blog I will restrain myself. I have never been so sore after a hike but would totally do it again. Thanks to Dave for setting it up and keeping us entertained with all sorts of tales and "would you rathers". We also went into Snow Canyon for some climbing rocks, looking for lizards and playing in the sand... oh the memories. What a great family that can have good times together. Love you all... I guess we'll see after our bus tour:)

I wouldn't say I qualify as a runner now by any means, but I did run my first race. Dad, Drew, Davey and me all ran the SLC 5k, while Annie and Matthew ran the half marathon. Davey was the fastest of us 5k'rs and Annie and Matthew did theirs in 1:58. They did great! While training I have to say I did not get that natural high or addiction to running like I keep hearing about... Even as my alarm went off at 5:10 that morning I thought for sure runners were out of theirs minds. But as soon as I walked outside and everything was still , I felt like the first one to see the morning, and that was kind of cool. I met everyone else at the house.. Drew and Davey had just rolled out of bed( they were up a little late the night before because, yes they had dates with girls). At the start line everyone was in such a good mood and full of energy. Drew and Davey of course left Dad and I in the dust, but I was just happy we both ran the entire race, it was fun running it with Dad. I'm not saying I'm hooked or anything but I may do another.

Sunday Afternoon

Sunday Afteroon: Mom and Dad were still in Spokane visiting jimmy and Carly but we thought we would eat dinner as usual. After it was such a nice day we ventured into the back yard. As always with the Dunn's we had to be doing something competitive like freeze tag or throwing a hoola hoop with just enough back spin to make it back to you with out falling over. And of course just plain hoola hooping. I'm sure the neighbors love when we venture into the backyard, very entertaining.

I won't try and tell their story, but Alli was born Dec 11 at 10:30, 7lbs 9 .

So far she has many names... Matthew calls her Allison, Annie Allie, Grandpa Ally cat and Reagan baby Hallie.

Before she went to bed last night she said" Next time you see me I will be 5!" It seems like it went by that fast too... I woke up one morning and I have a beautiful, funny, loving, kind, stubborn, silly,giving, 5 year old. I love you, you are my happiness.

For her birthday we went to a a salon that caters to children, so she had a manicure. I know I will be creating a diva much too young.

So there has been some confusion on the halloween costumes... Mom was an old grandma. When the neighbor girl asked what she was and heard "old grandma" she said..."oh, thats what you really are" :)Dad was a goaly caught in the net, he had bandages all over him, Matthew was suppose to be an old lady with Annie but as soon as he put on the wig he had to be Weird Al. Obviously I am still figuring this out, because my lastpost was missing half my text.... We had a fun party for Reagans b-day,We all dressed up and had a spook ally and good food, mom went all out as usual. the entire week was full of primary parties school parties, L.E. had good use of her costume. I went to a few parties with friends... be greatful those of you that are married. Parties always reveal why there are so many people still single... :)Next week we are off to Spokane to visit Jimmy and Carly... can't wait.

This weekend was fun with Jimmy and Carly visiting. L.E. couldn't wait to see Hal and they played very well together I think only one or two biting incidents this time. We decided, much to Jimmy's dismay that Thanksgiving point would be fun for the kids. They loved the petting zoo and fed the chikens and goats and put their fingers right in their own mouths.I went golfing with the boys, still not very good, and my fantasy team made out with 193 points, I think that may be an all time record:)
From time to time I find myself reflecting on life and if i'm spending time on meaniful parts of it, and this was one of those weeks. Some patients in one of the offices I work in lost their 3 yr old daughter at Lake Powell, another family lost the bishop of their ward,and my good friend a baby that only could be with her for a short 24 weeks. Funerals can be so emotionaly draining, such sorrow for the loss and such happiness to know there will be such a great reunion someday. I know that is so easy for me to say.... I don't understand why I am so blessed. I tucked L.E. in extra tight tonight and sang just a few more songs even though it was past her bedtime, hopefully I can remember to do that more often

This weekend went by way too fast.Me, L.E., Grandma , Annie and Reagan went to visit the witches at Gardner Village. The girls loved all the pumpkins and fun fall decor. Reagan loved the witch riding a bike although I think she was a bit freaked out at first. Seeing the witch suspended in mid air while peddaling would be a scary sight at that age. L.E. was even happy this year to have her picture taken next to the witches... a big step from previous visits which usually ended in tears of fright. Even though I am not excited for cold weather, Fall is my favorite season. The leaves on the mountains are beautiful this year. We can't wait for Halloween!
L.E. has been busy the last few weeks playing soccer for the first time. She has her last game next week... her team has come a very long way. I think the first two weeks the other teams scored about 10 goals to our one, even though our team actually may have helped them a bit...oops. They have learned their directions, its not the end of the world to fall down, and they can "take one for the team" (or several). They are still learning that once the ball goes out of bounds they can stop play, ( although the parents enjoy then stilll chasing the ball through our chairs) they should wait for timeouts to get drinks instead of mid play,and to leave the dollie on the sideline.L.E. has scored two goals this season and wanted to make sure everyone saw it each time.
The rest of the weekend we moslty hung out at mom and dads, watched conferene and ate a lot of food. It was fun to have Annie and Mathew dowm all weekend and for Drew to make his occasional appearances. Of course we made it to Grandma Wynns for usual conference Sunday visit. It's just not the same with some of you so far away.
